16th June 2009 Loch Belivat Evening Event – Results

This is a lovely little area. Fortunately the weather was good, much better than the September event last year. I experimented with a faint track out on the west of the NS fence, particularly for the Orange course, which was the most difficult to plan (or at least plan an alternative to part way round the loch and back again.) The path, though very faint seems to have been successful. The other experiment was to put out a White course, for which there were four participants, only one of whom went solo. I'm not sure if there is much benefit then in putting out a White (which needed five controls solely for this course and a taped section). Maybe an easy-ish Yellow would get all these folk out anyway? Perhaps though, it would be different with more frequent White courses.

The Light Green was quite difficult, I thought, for a TD 4, particularly leg 3 to the saddle, but it's the best of area in there and I thought it was a fair cop.

The Green had a 19 control festival and it was my first time planning a TD5. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did planning it, although I think Alasdair should hang around and appreciate the beauty of his environs a little bit more.
