Carse District Event 2008

You may have noticed that a bunch of controls were missing: the difficulties of event officials either being unable to be present or injuring themselves, requiring last minute substitutions.

Hopefully this did not detract from the enjoyment. It does make some of the results difficult to compare but hopefully these are somewhere near correct. You will notice that for substituted controls (138 and 202) the splits have been removed (although they are visible to the right).

Thank you all for braving the weather warnings and coming to Carse. As you found out, the event had its problems. The planner had to go away to work before the weekend and I dislocated my shoulder a week beforehand, making me unable to do most of the in-forest work. I am very grateful to those who stepped in to help; unfortunately a single misunderstanding resulted in five controls not being placed. We did the best we could to minimise the effect of this; I accept responsibility for it and I hope you still enjoyed your runs. Thank you to all who expressed your appreciation of the courses.
