2008 INVOC Club Handicap Championships - 24th August at Battan Congratulations to Siggy, our new club champion. He did his 4.5 km course in 43 minutes and anyone who has run in Battan knows that's extremely good. He was followed by our 'veterans' Ken and Ray. M65 next year! So the first 4 finishers had the longest courses and that is the first time that has happened since we started the handicap system in its present form. It could only have happened in terrain as technical and physical as Battan, when time is easily lost if the concentration goes for a 'wee minute' and it takes forever to relocate. I have enjoyed organising this event for 10+ years but it is now time to hand over to someone else who can bring a new perspective and energy to the Handicap and maybe create renewed interest, to encourage more competitors to join in the clubs social and fun event.
